The idea
Every focus app blocks sites and you just open a different browser. FocusGate takes a different approach: instead of a blocklist, it makes distracting sites feel visually uncomfortable during your focus sessions — desaturated, slow-loading fake skeleton screens, no images, no algorithm. The site works but the dopamine hit is gone.
You set a focus session, pick intensity (mild / stern / brutal), and go. Sites load as grayscale wireframes. No blocked page, no override button — just friction. Built for people who've failed at every other focus tool.
